Event Recap | Participants of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs International Training Program on Industrial AI Applications for Countries under the Belt and Road Initiative Visit SAIFS

On the afternoon of June 30, 2026, participants from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs International Training Program on Industrial Artificial Intelligence Applications for countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) paid a study visit to SAIFS (Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Finance School, East China Normal University) for academic exchanges. The training program had 29 participants from 12 countries including Hungary, Kazakhstan and Brazil, consisting of corporate executives, university professors, government officials and research experts. Professor Yilei Shao, Dean of SAIFS, and Assistant Professor Aocheng Tang, Assistant to the Dean, delivered on-site lectures and held in-depth discussions and mutual learning with the participants.

Faculty members of the school gave the participants a systematic introduction to the independent and controllable AI fintech system built by the SAIFS team. They also conducted in-depth discussions on practical challenges arising from the industrial application of artificial intelligence and corresponding solutions. Professor Yilei Shao noted that both artificial intelligence and finance are global in nature. She expressed delight at having the chance to discuss topics and learn mutually with participants from various countries across the globe. She added that exploring whether proven governance approaches in the financial industry can be referenced to advance AI governance constitutes a key research subject she intends to further study and promote.

The lecture maintained a solemn yet lively atmosphere. Discussions featured profound insights delivered in accessible language, enabling both sides to deepen their understanding of advancing the development and application of artificial intelligence.
