The existing theoretical framework built on the carbon-based assumptions of Western neoclassical economics can hardly account for the profound shocks triggered by AGI. China also suffers from a lack of indigenous theoretical systems in AGI economics. Against this backdrop,Silicon-Based Economics: Construction of China’s Independent Theoretical System of Economics for the AGI Era, compiled and led by Professor Yilei Shao of SAIFS, has been selected into the High-Quality Research Incubation Program for China’s Independent Knowledge System at East China Normal University. Taking this opportunity, the project commits itself to establishing the fundamental theoretical framework of silicon-based economics. It provides theoretical support for China’s policy-making in the AGI era and lays disciplinary groundwork for developing China’s independent economic knowledge system suited to the age of AGI.
