On the morning of June 16, Mrs. Li Xia, First-Class Inspector of the Municipal Party Committee Department and Council Chair of the Shanghai Overseas Returned Scholars Association (SORSA), along with her colleagues from SORSA, visited “Mosu Space” in Xuhui District and held a discussion with the leadership team of the SAIFS Research Center at ECNU.Mrs. Zhang Huihong, Head of the United Front Department of the CPC at ECNU and Director of ECNU’s Office, Prof. Shao Yilei, Dean of the Shanghai AI-Finance School (SAIFS) and Director of the SAIFS Research Center, and Mr. Wang Junlin, Deputy Director of the FinLLM Lab at SAIFS, participated in the conversation.
During the event, Prof. Shao introduced the innovative positioning, disciplinary development, and research progress of the SAIFS Research Center. As the world’s first institution dedicated to the interdisciplinary integration of AI and finance, SAIFS has collaborated with Xuhui District and the Agricultural Bank of China to promote “technology–industry–finance” integration since 2024, establishing itself as a hub for innovation in AI-powered financial development.
Then, Mr. Wang Junlin showcased the breakthroughs of the "AI Jason" financial analyst agent in quantitative investment and risk management.
Mrs. Li Xia highly recognized the school’s outstanding achievements in “Industry-Education” Integration. She particularly praised its effective model for connecting education, talent, industry, and innovation chains through school-enterprise collaboration and project incubation.
Highlighting Shanghai’s unique strengths as both an international financial center and a science and technology innovation hub, Mrs. Li emphasized that the Shanghai Overseas Returned Scholars Association (SORSA) will further leverage its concentration of talent to better support returnee scholars. SORSA will also serve as a bridge platform to address the needs of returnee entrepreneurs and foster closer collaboration between academia and industry, contributing to Shanghai’s development as a global hub for financial technology.
